Pharmacognosy as a science of natural medicinal raw materials and drugs of natural origin is a science that protects nature and affects the survival and protection of man. From the earliest times, man was exploring everything that nature provides. With the development of science and technology, research into natural raw materials, as well as those with healing activity, was perfected. The obtained results could reliably be used in official pharmacopoeia, medicine and dentistry. With the development of computer technology, there has been more detailed information on the use of natural medicinal raw materials through Phytotherapy, which is increasingly being applied. All these studies indicate that pharmacognosic studies with the goal of using natural medicinal substances and medicines of natural origin must not be called alternative medicine, but it is the same as all other medicines that are only adapted to the nature of natural raw materials.
This study evaluates the genotoxic potential of two Ru(III) complexes with thiosemicarbazone based ligands. The complexes were tested for in vitro protective effect on chromosome aberrations in peripheral human lymphocytes using the cytokinesis block micronucleus (CBMN) assay at concentrations 1.5; 3.7 and 7.4 μg/mL. The cell culture treated with the tested complexes, at 3.7 μg/mL concentration, decreased a frequency of micronucleus for 37% and 32%, when compared with the control cell cultures. At concentration of 7.4 (1.5) μg/mL of this complexes exhibited slightly lower effect of micronucleus for 30% (35%) and 27% (29%), when compared with the control cell cultures.
This paper aims to analyse the level, structure and number of direct payment schemes, the achieved level of harmonization with the common agricultural policy (CAP), and to point out the threats and challenges of the agricultural sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H). The complexity of the political system in B&H has negative effect on the overall economic development of the country, and especially on sensitive sectors such as agriculture. As a result, agricultural policy in B&H shows great deviations from the foreseen objectives, which are often changed without clearly defined development goals. This is also reflected in the fact that direct support is the most important form of support for agricultural producers in B&H. In the structure of direct payments, considerably higher share of payments is per output than per hectare/livestock unit. Although B&H as a clear objective has European integration and harmonization of agricultural policy with the CAP, this process is slow, with no visible signs, without political readiness for faster improvement, and will in the future require significant changes.
