Mostar municipality is an area of great significance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, both for the natural resources and cultural heritage as well as for the fact that it occupies the central part of the territory of Herzegovina and extends to the middle part of the Neretva River. Therefore, it has become an important traffic point over which cross the roads of European, national and regional importance. This paper presents the results of the research of traffic on the road network of the City of Mostar over the plan period. Within the framework of the research, the analyses were performed on the impact of the construction of planned roads in relation to the current traffic volume on the existing ones. Also, the impact of the construction of the planned residential and business area on the traffic volume was explored and estimated.
The noise is meant by all unwanted sounds. As the years were passing by the noise has become more and more intense. European Union adopted Directive 2002/49/EC recognizing noise pollution problem. During the processes of planning and designing, and after the construction of new roads, it is of major importance to determine the level of traffic noise which is going to occur or which has already occurred. For that purposes mathematical models for prediction of noise emission and dispersion have been used. The aim of this paper is to represent the results of the research on the effects of pavement surface condition on road traffic noise. Research results were used to develop noise prediction models.
The paper presents the "TRASA" program for road design which consists of 4 sub-programs: road alignment design, coordinative geometry, quantity representation and cost estimation. The program is based on the graphic operation system which increases its operation and facilitates data processing. It also includes ordinary design methods and it is intended for smaller design offices. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 833144. (TRRL)
