Distribution of ticks in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Highlights • From 42 sampling areas (municipalities) distributed throughout the country 6 193 tick samples were collected from the ixoidae family.• I.ricinus was the most common tick species found, however with decreasing contribution to overall tick population compared to earlier studies.• Dermacentor marginatus as second most common species found had doubled its presence compared to earlier studies.• Changes is tick species distribution were discussed in light of increase of average annual temperature and rainfall, changes of land management and land use.
