Activity representation language-the means for formal communications

The authors consider organizational activities as knowledge processors. Knowledge from the activities is represented and communicated by means of activity models. An activity representation language (ARL) enables a description to be given of an activity type and actual activity execution. It assumes actors in their capacity to perform actions that change the state of affairs concerning any organizational aspect of existence. The ARL is based on predicate logic and includes some elements of temporal logic. The ARL is illustrated by an example.<<ETX>>
