ENXAGUATÓRIO BUCAL: PRINCIPAIS ATIVOS E DESENVOLVIMENTO DE FÓRMULA CONTENDO EXTRATO HIDROALCOÓLICO DE Salvia officinalis L.
The analysis of fourteen free sold mouthwashers has shown that active principles sodium fluoride, cetylpyridinium chloride, triclosan, PVM/MA, chlorhexidine digluconate, thymol, menthol, eucalyptol and plant extracts were more used, mostly associated in the formulations. Based in these analyses a mouthwasher was developed with the active principles triclosan, sodium fluoride and hydroalcoholic extract of Salvia officinalis L. (sage), according to the product’s goal characteristics, like clarity of solution and pleasant taste. The using of sage is due to its antimicrobian properties, reported in the literature
